Hodnicki Scores Twice as Soccer Blanks St. Francis 2-0

Brighton, MI - After not having a game in about two weeks off, the men's soccer team returned to action on Saturday hosting the St. Francis University Fighting Saints. Richard Hodnick got Michigan-Dearborn going with an unassisted goal at 16:33 of the first half. Just five minutes later Hodnicki would score again. Jad Hmadeh (SR/Beirut, Lebanon) would get the assist. The Wolverines outshot the Fighting Saints 7-1 in the first half. In the second half, St. Francis moved the ball better and were able to get six shots off, but Michigan-Dearborn goalkeeper Aaron Johnson (SR/Ypsilanti, MI) turned away all three shots on goal in earning the shutout victory.

The men's soccer team improves to 2-0 on the season and will look to make it 3-0 as they travel to Spring Arbor University on Saturday, September 17th. The team will have one more non-conference game (September 20th at Cleary) before they open up conference play against Marygrove College on September 24th.
