Soccer Loses to Northwestern Ohio 6-1

Brighton, MI - The men's soccer team lost their final home game of the season on Saturday falling to the 5th ranked University of Northwestern Ohio Racers 6-1. Northwestern Ohio jumped out early scoring less than a minute into the game when Sean Latimer put one past junior goalkeeper Aaron Johnson. Less than eight minutes later, Latimer struck again giving the Racers a 2-0 lead. Michigan-Dearborn would respond with junior Matt McCourt notching his second goal of the season pulling the Wolverines within one goal. With just over ten minutes remaining in the half, Northwestern Ohio would get another goal to take a 3-1 lead into halftime.

The second half saw the Racers strike again early scoring just five minutes into the half. They would add two more goals for the 6-1 victory. Northwestern Ohio fired 27 total shots while Michigan-Dearborn had 4 total shots. Johnson made five saves in the loss. The men's soccer team will finish up the season on the road Wednesday, October 28th, at 1:00pm against Lawrence Tech.
