DEARBORN, Mich. — Junior guard Jackson Reynolds eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career on Wednesday night, finishing with a game-high 29 points as the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team fell 86–71 to Rochester Christian (Mich.) inside the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines (0–1) traded baskets early and trailed by just nine at halftime, but Rochester Christian used its size and efficiency on the glass to pull away down the stretch. The Warriors out-rebounded UM-Dearborn 50–39 and turned 23 points off turnovers into key scoring opportunities.
Reynolds' milestone performance led the way offensively, while Luc Laketa was just shy of a double double with eight points and 13 rebounds. Ali Homayed added 10 points and five boards, and Kevin Gillenwater chipped in seven rebounds.
Rochester Christian's James Fisher recorded a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Linden Holder added 16 points and five assists to pace the Warriors.
