GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team got 16 points in the second half from senior Megan Swick (SR/Grosse Ile, Mich.), but the Wolverines were unable to recover from an early deficit in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup against Aquinas College Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Swick hit four 3-pointers after the break, finishing with 16 total points, but the Saints maintained their advantage and took the 69-46 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 6-20 overall and 1-16 in the WHAC.
Junior Natalie Spala (JR/Livonia, MI) led the Wolverines in the first half, scoring 10 of her 13 points, while adding four rebounds. Sophomore Jeorgia Jones (SO/Detroit, MI) finished with a double-double, including 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Wolverines shot 17-of-53 from the field, 7-of-23 from deep and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Aquinas was led by Michaela Faber with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Andraya Johnson and Hannah Brefeld each added 10 points.
UM-Dearborn plays for the final time on the road this season at the University of Northwestern Ohio at 5:30 pm Wednesday in Lima, Ohio.
