Claudia Maguire, Women's Ice Hockey, 1/15/2020

The University of Michigan-Dearborn Player of the Week is women’s ice hockey forward Claudia Maguire, it was announced Wednesday.

UM-Dearborn returned to action with a pair of games this past weekend and came away with wins in both as the team defeated the University of Michigan (ACHA DI) on the road on Saturday and Aquinas College at home on Sunday.

Maguire led the way for the Wolverines in both wins as she registered three goals and two assists against the University of Michigan (ACHA DI) in a 10-4 victory at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich. The road win avenged the only loss in the program’s first season.

Against the Saints, Maguire recorded three assists and 16 shots on goal, as UM-Dearborn defeated Aquinas College for the second time this season by a score of 5-1.

The two victories improved the Wolverine’s record to 12-1-0 overall on the season.

The Ann Arbor native currently leads the team with 29 points, including 16 goals. Maguire is also a member of the women’s soccer team.

The honor is the second for Maguire this year.

UM-Dearborn travels to Sault College for two games starting at 7 pm Sunday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
