Hockey Falls to Kent State

Kent, OH - The 12th ranked men's ice hockey team went on the road to face the Kent State Golden Flashes Friday night. Early on, things looked great for the Wolverines as sophomore Jeff McFarland scored just 3:29 into the first period. Sophomores Andrew Palushaj and Ryan Urso assisted on McFarland's 15th goal of the season. McFarland's goal would be the only goal of the period.

Kent State would strike early in the second period as Jonathon Buttita scored just 8 seconds into the period. The Golden Flashes would score another goal just five minutes later and take a 2-1 lead into the third period. Another early goal by Kent State, this one 3:43 into the third period gave the Golden Flashes a 3-1 lead. Kent State would add an empty net goal late in the game in winning 4-1. Sophomore goalie Nate Ferris made 18 saves in the loss. The two teams will battle it out again Saturday night at 7:30pm.
