FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- In a challenging league outing against Indiana Tech, the University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team was unable to secure a win, falling 0-3 to the Warriors in Fort Wayne, Ind. Despite a valiant effort across three sets, the Wolverines showed potential with close-set scores (19-25, 22-25, 22-25) but could not overcome the consistent play of the Warriors.
The team performance saw notable individual contributions. Kielee Tondryk and Marisa Fetterley each powerfully delivered 11 kills, supporting the offense, while Jill Paryaski stood out both at the net with five kills and defensively with three blocks. Defensive plays were strong, with Kenzie Mertz leading with an impressive 22 digs. Mertz's 22 digs help her surpass 2000 digs in her illustrious career.
Regan Rose notably steered the team's setup with 30 assists, facilitating many scoring opportunities. In the serving department, the Wolverines saw contributions via aces from Nalani Schanz, Ellie MacDonald, Evelyn Rummel, and Rose, each adding to the team's fight.
The Wolverines take on the Rochester Warriors on Wednesday (Oct. 30).
