
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team traveled to the west side of the state for a midweek Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup with Cornerstone University Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Wolverines fell to the Golden Eagles in three sets despite a strong rally in the third. The set scores were 25-16, 25-11, 25-22. The loss drops UM-Dearborn 2-12 overall and 1-4 in the WHAC.
Gina Giacomini led the Wolverine offense with seven kills, while Bronte Michura and Mackenzie Zook each added six. UM-Dearborn Player of the Week, Regan Sliwinski recorded four total blocks, her fourth consecutive match with at least four.
Daniella Barile had a team-high 11 assists and added nine digs for the Wolverines, while Libero Mallory Lynch finished with 10 digs.
Alexis Angus had a match-high 13 kills for Cornerstone, while Kayla Clark finished with 48 assists.
The Wolverines return home for two matches this weekend starting against Indiana Tech at 7 pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
