The Wolverines closed the match in four sets, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-15 to move their record to 5-10 overall this season.
Three Wolverines finished with double-digit kills led by freshman Gina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) with 16 and a .353 hitting percentage. Junior Erin Parrinello (JR/Westland, MI) added 13 kills and a .391 hitting percentage, while senior Shayla Smalls (SR/Canton, MI) recorded 10 kills and a .474 percentage. Freshman setter Sabrina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) finished with 35 assists in the win.
The UM-Dearborn defense was led by junior Libero Heather Roberts (JR/Flint, MI) with a team-high 14 digs, while Sabrina Giacomini added eight. Christina Oakley(SR/Novi, MI) finished with one solo block and three block assists, while Parrinello added three block assists.
UM-Dearborn finished with 46 kills and 20 errors for a .220 hitting percentage.
GBC was led by Ashley Bearden with 14 kills, while Tori Dogger added 18 assists.
UM-Dearborn travels to Calumet College of St. Joseph for four matches this weekend at the Crimson Wave Invite, starting against Roosevelt University at 3 p.m. Friday in Whiting, Ind.
