Golden Eagles blank Wolverines 3-0 in WHAC contest

RIVERVIEW, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest to Cornerstone University Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.

The Wolverines hung with the Golden Eagles for the first 30 minutes, but the Golden Eagles took control with a late first-half goal. Cornerstone added two early in the second half on its way to a 3-0 victory.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-11-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the WHAC.

Jordan Anheuser made 10 saves in net for the Wolverines, who were outshot 29-9. Jenna Rogers led the UM-Dearborn offense with two shots on goal, while Gabriella Teems and Melanie Skamiera each added one.

Makayela Shepperd, Phoebe LaCroix, and Madison Radcliffe were the goal scorers for the Golden Eagles.

UM-Dearborn travels to No. 3 the University of Northwestern Ohio at noon Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
