SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-2) women's basketball team were unable to get anything going on Tuesday (Nov. 1) as they suffered an 85-35 loss against #RV Indiana South Bend (2-0) inside the Student Activities Center.
UM-Dearborn Leaders
Sienna Smith led the Wolverines in scoring with 10 points making 4-6 from the free-throw line. Sydney Dixon chipped in nine points on 4-7 shooting. Elzien Zomer led the Wolverines with six rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Lily Miller denied two shots in just 13 minutes.
IU South Bend Leaders
Maddie Gard led the Titans with 14 points on 5-6 from the field. Amaya Rufus added 12 of her own, while Emma Fisher and Sara Doi each scored 10 points. Rachael Robards led the way with nine rebounds and added four assists to lead the Titans. The Titans shot 43.2% (32-74) and held the Wolverines to 25.9% from the floor.
Inside the Game
The Titans got off to a hot start limiting the Wolverines to just six points in the first quarter. Smith scored four of the Wolverines' six points in the opening quarter. The Titans carried the momentum into the second quarter as they went into the break with a 48-17 lead. Unfortunately, Dearborn could not shorten the deficit as they could only shoot 20% from the floor in the second half en route to the 85-35 final.
