DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team continued to receive postseason honors with two Wolverines named to the 2018 Google Cloud College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Team, it was announced by the organization on Thursday.

Senior Jordan Ewald (SR/Wixom, MI) was named to the team for the second consecutive year, while junior Rachel Clem (JR/Stevensville, MI) earned the first CoSIDA honor of her career.

CoSIDA began the distinguished Academic All-America program in 1952, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America scholar-athlete honors. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District team is voted on by CoSIDA members. Voting is based on academic achievement and success in competition, making the award a highly competitive honor.

Ewald and Clem will move on to the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-American Teams to be announced later this month.
