DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team completed the most successful season in program history with a 30-10 overall record and the school's first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season championship.

The Wolverines were led on offense by the bat of sophomore Kassidy Butler (SO/Parchment, MI), who was named an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention after a tremendous first season with the team, it was announced Friday.

Butler, who is the first NAIA All-American honoree in program history, also won the WHAC Player of the Year Award earlier in May. She posted team highs with a .425 batting average, 40 RBIs, nine home runs, 19 walks and a .745 slugging percentage. She added 27 runs scored and seven doubles, wile striking out just 10 times.

Butler was also the first Wolverine softball player to be named NAIA Player of the Week and was named the WHAC player of the Week twice.
