Butler powers to first career WHAC POTW

DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team has been on a roll recently, winning seven straight in conference play and vaulting right back into contention in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

The recent run has been pushed by the stellar play at the plate of sophomore designated player Kassidy Butler (SO/Parchment, MI), who has been hitting at a torrid pace in recent weeks. Butler was unstoppable for the Wolverines over the weekend, helping the team to four straight wins.

Butler was 10-for-12 at the plate with three home runs and four doubles in sweeps over Indiana Tech and the University of Northwestern Ohio. She drove in eight runs and scored seven more, while picking up three walks. In the first game of the weekend against Indiana Tech, Butler sent two over the fence, getting the Wolverine lineup rolling.

Butler is now batting .516 on the season with seven home runs and 29 RBIs.

UM-Dearborn is now 18-6-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the WHAC.
