Bio

Matt Quirk is entering his fifth season as the head coach of the UM-Dearborn men's soccer team after being hired in April 2014.

In his first four seasons with the Wolverines, Quirk's teams have displayed tremendous success in the classroom, while making strides towards the top of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference on the field. The Wolverines have been named an NAIA Scholar Team three times under Quirk while totaling 26 WHAC All-Academic Team members and 17 NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In 2016-17, the men's soccer team combined for a 3.17 GPA, the highest among all men's programs at UM-Dearborn.

Since taking over the program, Quirk has guided the Wolverines to the program's first wins over Concordia University, Siena Heights University, Rochester College and Lourdes University.

In 2017, Quirk was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach, as voted on by his peers. He was also named the conference rater for the WHAC in 2018.

Currently, Quirk is a staff coach for Michigan Rush Downriver. Prior to taking the head coaching position at UM-Dearborn he served as an assistant coach with the Wolverines. He led the Trenton High School boys varsity team to a District title in 2016 and the Gabriel Richard High School girls varsity team to a District championship in the same year.

During his playing career, Quirk started at center-back for Schoolcraft College from 2006-07, for a team that was nationally ranked in the NJCAA.
