Wildcats score three late to top Wolverines

MARION, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team held the advantage on the scoreboard for most of a nonconference matchup with Indiana Wesleyan University Friday in Marion, Ind.

The Wildcats took control late in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals to hand the Wolverines their first loss of the season, 3-1. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-1-1 this season.

Luke Baker scored his second goal of the season to put UM-Dearborn up 1-0 in the 33rd minute on an assist from freshman Jack Barnett.

UM-Dearborn remained in front until the 74th minute, when IWU scored three goals in 12 minutes to pull away for the win.

Alex Siluk made a career-high nine saves for the Wolverines, who were outshot 18-3 in the contest.

The Wolverines travel to Adrian College to face the Bulldogs at 7 pm Sept. 12 in Adrian, Mich.
