GEORGIC NAMED TO WHAC ALL-NEWCOMER TEAM, FIVE WOLVERINES HONORED

Junior Joseph Georgic was named to the WHAC All-Newcomer Team for his performance in 2017, it was announced by the WHAC on Friday. Georgic is the first Wolverine to be on any All-WHAC men's soccer list since Iris Mesic, who was named an All-WHAC Honorable Mention in 2013. Georgic played in 15 games in the midfield for the Wolverines this season, scoring his first career goal in an overtime contest with Concordia University. He added an assist and five shots on goal.

Senior Ali Anani and junior Stephen Caruso were each named to the WHAC All-Academic Team. To be named to the WHAC All-Academic Team, an athlete must have achieved junior academic standing, have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and have been enrolled at the University for two years, or one year as a transfer. The honor is the second for both student-athletes.

Senior Brody Hall was named the UM-Dearborn Champions of Character Team representative. He was selected for representing the five core character values of the NAIA, which are respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

Fourth-year head coach Matt Quirk was named the WHAC Men's Soccer Champions of Character Coach for the first time in his career.
