CONCORDIA RALLIES LATE TO TOP MEN'S SOCCER IN 2OT

The Wolverines held off the Cardinals in the first half and found the go-ahead goal in the early minutes after the break. Concordia netted the equalizer with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to send the game into extra time. The Cardinals got the game-winner shortly after the start of the second overtime period to capture the 2-1 win. 

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in the WHAC.

Joseph Georgic (JR/New Boston, MI) put the Wolverines on top in the 57th minute, striking the ball from 25 yards out and putting it in the top corner past the Concordia goalkeeper. The goal is the first for Georgic as a Wolverine.

Concordia's first goal came in the 89th minute, as Phil Vrzovski put away a cross from Khadim Mbaye to force the overtime period. Mbyaye found Vrzovski early in the second overtime on a similar play to end the game in favor of the Cardinals. 

Concordia outshot the Wolverines 21-12 as UM-Dearborn goalkeeper Dylon DaSilva (JR/Canton, MI) made six saves in the contest. Jeffrey Drzyzga (SR/Grosse Ile, MI) led the Wolverines with four shots taken, while Stephen Caruso (SR/Novi, MI) had two on the net. 

The Wolverines continue WHAC action at No. 20 University of Northwestern Ohio at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Lima, Ohio.
