The Wolverines scored four times in the final 30 minutes to top NCAA Division III opponent Adrian College 4-3 Saturday in Adrian, Mich., moving UM-Dearborn to 2-1 overall on the season.
Much like the season-opening win over Trinity Christian College, the Wolverines trailed 2-0 at the half and allowed the third goal just after the break to trail by three. UM-Dearborn got on the board with the first goal of the season from Jacob Drzyzga (SO/Grosse Ile, MI) in the 61st minute on a corner kick header. The assist went to freshman Tanner Wallace (FR/Riverview, MI).
The Wolverines again cut into the lead seven minutes later on the first career goal from freshman Kevin Gondoly (FR/Dearborn, MI), who added the tying score in the 73rd minute on a header off a failed clear by the Adrian goalkeeper.
Much like he did in his UM-Dearborn debut, freshman Ali Khcheiche (FR/Dearborn Heights, MI) found the back of the net for the game-winner, this one coming off a feed from Joseph Georgic (JR/New Boston, MI). The game-winner came with just 37 seconds left in regulation. Khcheiche has a team-high four goals, following a hat trick in the Wolverine opener.
Adrian outshot UM-Dearborn 17-12, while Wolverine goalkeeper Dylon DaSilva (JR/Canton, MI) made seven saves.
UM-Dearborn continues the weekend with a road contest at Olivet College at 4 p.m. Sunday in Olivet, Mich.
