Wolverines Wrap Up Day One at Battle at the Brae

AUGUSTA, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team officially opened their spring season on Friday (Apr. 5). The Wolverines sit in ninth out of 10 teams after posting a team score of 421 after day one at the Battle of the Brae. 

Brandon Tirador and Mahmoud Saad each shot a pair of 78s to lead the Wolverines. Tirador posted a 39 after the opening nine holes after six pars and three bogeys on the front nine. After a bogey on 10 to make him four over. Tirador responded with a birdie on the par three 11th for his lone birdie of the day. Tirador shot four over on his final seven holes to card a 78 (+7). 

Saad opened his day with a birdie on the par-four first, one of three on the day for him. Five bogeys and a birdie left Saad with a 39 on the front nine. Saad birdied the par three fourteenth after a double bogey on 13 to make him seven over. After back-to-back pars on 15 and 16, Saad bogeyed the par three 17th to help him finish with a 78. 

Brenden Pultorak shot an 82 and sits in 43rd. Mohamad Hamayed and Trevor Hill shot an 87 and 96, respectively, to round out the afternoon for the Wolverines.
