Tomlinson's 35 lifts Wolverines to 89-64 win

DEARBORN, Mich. – Elwood Tomlinson scored a career-high for the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over Concordia University Wednesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

Tomlinson scored 19 points in the second half and finished with a career-best 35 as UM-Dearborn cruised to an 89-64 win over the Cardinals. The victory pushes UM-Dearborn to 16-11 overall and 9-8 in the WHAC with three games remaining in the regular season.

Up five with under seven to play in the first half, UM-Dearborn took control on a pair of 3-pointers from Jalen Paul and a fast-break layup from Tomlinson on a brilliant half-court pass from Brandon Recto, sparking a 10-0 Wolverine run.

UM-Dearborn put the game away in the second half, shooting 53 percent from the floor. Tomlinson was 13-of-21 from the field, hitting seven 3-pointers, while adding seven rebounds.

Jason Gigliotti recorded a double-double, including 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Mathew Mignault added 10 points off the bench. In his first game in a Wolverine uniform, Cameron Johnson scored five points, including his first 3-pointer.

The Wolverines shot 33-of-69 from the field, 14-of-32 from deep and 9-of-11 at the line, while outrebounding the Cardinals 47-36.

Concordia was led by Greg Alexander with 13 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines host the University of Northwestern Ohio at 3 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
