Saints hold off Wolverines in WHAC contest

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team dropped a fourth-straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest, falling to Aquinas College Wednesday at the Sturrus Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines (RV) fell behind by 12 at the half and were unable to chip away at the Saint lead as Aquinas went on for a 78-67 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn 13-8 overall and 6-5 in the WHAC.

Jason Gigliotti continued his strong junior season, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebound for a double-double. Elwood Tomlinson scored 13 points off the bench, while Zach Lattimer added three 3-pointers, finishing with 11 points.

The Wolverines shot 26-of-59 from the field, 7-of-24 from deep and 8-of-12 from the line.

Jesse Hillis led the Saints with 17 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines return home to take on Cornerstone University at 3 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
