OCU surges late to top No. 21 Wolverines

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team dropped a tough nonconference road test at Ohio Christian University Thursday in Circleville, Ohio.

The No. 21 Wolverines trailed by eight points at the half and by 17 with 14 minutes to play in the second. UM-Dearborn rallied and cut the OCU lead to one with six minutes to play. The Trailblazers reestablished control late and held on for an 81-75 win.

The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 11-4 overall this season.

The Wolverines were led by 19 points and four rebounds off the bench from Damian Forrest, while Jason Gigliotti added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Lattimer hit three 3-pointers to finish with 13 points, while Cody Kegley added 10 points and four assists.

UM-Dearborn shot 30-of-69 from the field, 7-of-23 from deep and 8-of-13 at the line.

Juan Woods led OCU with 29 points and eight rebounds, while Justin Barksdale added 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolverines close the calendar year against the defending national champion, Spring Arbor University at 3 pm on Saturday, Dec. 28 in Spring Arbor, Mich.
