KEGLEY LEADS WOLVERINES OVER RACERS 76-64

LIMA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team controlled the action from the opening tip and emerged with a crucial road Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win over the University of Northwestern Ohio Wednesday in Lima, Ohio.

The Wolverines scored the opening basket and never trailed, picking up a 76-64 win over the Racers. The win moves UM-Dearborn to 17-11 overall and 12-6 in the WHAC. The Wolverines are in third place in the league standings, a half-game ahead of Aquinas College at 11-6.

Sophomore Cody Kegley (SO/Yale, MI) led the Wolverines from the outside, with four 3-pointers and a game-high 21 points. Senior Gage Throgmorton (SR/White Lake, MI) added 16 points and three 3-pointers, while senior Jason Penn (SR/Detroit, MI) finished with 12 points.

Junior Donovan Farrell (JR/Detroit, MI) recorded team highs with 10 rebounds and five assists, while senior Ashton Curd (SR/Detroit, MI) added five assists.

The Wolverines shot 30-of-63 from the field, 9-of-24 from deep and 7-of-9 from the line while outrebounding the Racers 41-40.

The Racers were led by Sadeeq Bello with 18 points, while Xander Smart added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

UM-Dearborn returns home for the final two games of the regular season starting against Madonna University at 3 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
