WARRIORS SWEEP WOLVERINES IN FORT WAYNE

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn baseball team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Indiana Tech in a doubleheader Thursday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Wolverines took an early 3-0 lead in game one, but the Warriors took control to earn the 13-3 win in seven innings. Indiana Tech shut out the Wolverines in game two 10-0 in the second game to earn the sweep.

The losses drop UM-Dearborn to 4-24 overall and 2-18 in the WHAC.

Shaun Hannibal (FR/Brighton, MI) got the Wolverines going in the first game with a two-run home run, his second of the season. After Daniel Kerr (JR/Macomb, MI) tripled, Ryan Beadle (SO/Kalamazoo, MI) extended the UM-Dearborn lead to 3-0 with an RBI single.

The Warriors answered back with four runs in the bottom of the inning and scored at least once in each inning the rest of the way. UM-Dearborn finished with three runs on six hits and committed four errors.

Indiana Tech scored two runs in each of the first three innings to take control of game two. Kerr and Chase Turner (SR/Franklin, MI) each doubled in the game for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Rochester College, starting with a doubleheader at 1 pm, Saturday, April 21 in Rochester Hills, Mich.
