Wolverines open series with 11-1 over Cleary

DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 4 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team stepped out of conference play Friday night as it opened a weekend series against Cleary University at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Wolverine offense scored four times in the first period and added seven more in the second as they coasted to 11-1 victory. The win moves UM-Dearborn to 22-6-2 overall with three games remaining in the regular season.

Anthony Davis had a big night as he scored four goals in the game, which included a natural hat trick, while he added one assist. Mikhail Khudenko and Brendan West each scored twice, while John Ames, Silas Johnson, and Billy Brock each added a goal.

Brock had a team-high six assists in the game, as Thomas Proudlock got the start in goal for the Wolverines making 16 saves in the winning effort.

The Wolverines will look for the series sweep as they take on Cleary at 7 pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
