Wolverines drop battle to No. 2 Adrian

DEARBORN, Mich. - The No. 4 University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team battled No. 2 Adrian College in the finale of a home-and-home Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League series Friday at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.

The Wolverines got on the board first, but the Bulldogs scored the next four to take the game 4-1, earning the series sweep, dropping UM-Dearborn to 9-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in the GLCHL.

The Wolverines goal came off the stick of Justin Dunn (SO/Trenton, MI) midway through the first period. While on the power play, Nic LaBurn (JR/Northville, MI) took a pass from Kyle Schnettler (SO/Metamora, Mich.) and shot a one timer on goal, which was redirected by Dunn and into the net.

Adrian answered back nearly 10 minutes later and added two more in the second period before sealing the victory with an empty-net tally in the final seconds. The Bulldogs goals came from Brad Kobryn, Jordan Oshowy, Joe Costello and Kyle Perkowski.

Adam Ranck (SO/West Bloomfield, MI) stopped 29 shots for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn will take a few weeks off before its next contest. The Wolverines play host to Aquinas College in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest at 7:30 pm on Dec. 1 at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
