DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team is gearing up for the ACHA Division I National Championships set for this weekend in Columbus, Ohio, as the Wolverines are fresh off a second straight Great Lakes College Hockey League playoff title.

Four members of the UM-Dearborn team were honored with postseason GLCHL awards, it was announced Monday.

The awards for the Wolverines were highlighted by Tyler Groat (SO/Wyandotte, Mich.) being named the GLCHL Most Valuable Player. Groat enters the national tournament with a team-high 30 goals, while adding 14 assists for 44 points. He scored nine goals in the Wolverine's three-game sprint through the GLCHL playoffs, also picking up tournament MVP honors, while adding an All-GLCHL First Team selection, his second straight.

UM-Dearborn captain Ryan Urso (JR/Livonia, Mich.) joined his Team USA teammate on the All-GLCHL First Team, while adding an All-Defensive Team nod. Urso has five goals and 19 assists from the blue line this season, while controlling the defensive zone for the Wolverines. The honors are each the second straight for Urso.

Thomas Proudlock (SO/Southgate, Mich.) has been a solidifying presence in net for the Wolverines this season. He has a record of 15-4, with a 2.22 goals against average and a .929 save percentage in 23 games this season. For his efforts, Proudlock was named to the All-GLCHL Second Team.

In his first season with the Wolverines, Justin Dunn (FR/Trenton, Mich.) has been a true playmaker. He is tied for fourth on the team with 40 points, including 14 goals and a team-high 26 assists. Dunn earned a place on the GLCHL All-Freshman Team.

The No. 9 Wolverines open the ACHA National Championships against No. 8 Robert Morris University-Illinois at 8:15 p.m. Saturday inn Columbus, Ohio.
