Hockey Set for Nationals

Dearborn, MI - The men's ice hockey team will be departing for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament on Wednesday, March 2. The Department of Athletics & Recreation is coordinating a campus sendoff for the team at 10:45 a.m. EST on Wednesday, March 2 at the front entrance of the Fieldhouse. All university faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the sendoff for the team. The ACHA National Tournament is being played at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL. The men's ice hockey team is the 13th seed in the tournament and will open play on Thursday, March 3, at 8:00 p.m. CST against Navy who is the 20th seed (tournament bracket). UM-Dearborn enters the national tournament after winning the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) Conference Tournament on Sunday when the team defeated Davenport University 3-2 in overtime to earn their first GLCHL conference title in school history.

The Department of Athletics & Recreation is also coordinating a bus for those who would like to travel to Illinois to cheer on the team. The bus will be departing from campus the afternoon of March 3rd and will return after the game against Navy pending a minimum number of reservations is secured. The cost per person which includes bus and game tickets is approximately $72 per person. This estimated price is based on a minimum number to secure the bus reservation.
