Hockey Beats Adrian; Playing in GLCHL Finals

Dearborn, MI - The men's ice hockey team knocked off the Adrian College Bulldogs 2-1 to secure a spot in the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) Championship Game. All of the scoring occurred in the first period as the Wolverines scored twice a minute and twenty-two seconds apart. Sophomore Andrew Palushaj scored 6:34 into the game with fellow sophomore Jeff McFarland getting the lone assist. Freshman Nic LaBurn scored on the power play with McFarland again getting the only assist. Adrian would score with 13:08 left in the first period making it 2-1 Michigan-Dearborn.

The rest of the game belonged to the goalies. Michigan-Dearborn sophomore goalie Nate Ferris made 33 saves in the final two periods, including 20 in the third period, to secure the Wolverines spot in the championship game. Michigan-Dearborn will take on the Davenport University Panthers at 2:00pm on Sunday. Davenport defeated Michigan-Dearborn twice this season when the teams played in October.
