Hockey Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Dearborn, MI - The hockey team extended their winning streak to seven games with a 3-2 win over the visiting Indiana Tech Warriors Friday night. The 10th ranked Wolverines outshot the 19th ranked Warriors 49-35 as Michigan-Dearborn would avenge an earlier 3-2 overtime loss to Indiana Tech in November.

Freshman Tyler Dalton got Michigan-Dearborn on the board in the first period scoring his fourth goal of the season. Sophomore Ryan Urso recorded his 25th assist on Dalton's goal. Indiana Tech would the tie score early in the second period. The game would remain tied until sophomore Andrew Palushaj scored his ninth goal of the season with just over seven minutes remaining in the second period. The Wolverines would take that 2-1 lead into the third period. Five minutes into the third period senior Ryan Kelly gave Michigan-Dearborn a 3-1 lead. It was Kelly's first goal of the season in just his third game of the season. It looked like Michigan-Dearborn would cruise to victory until Indiana Tech scored a power play goal would just 38 seconds left in the game. Sophomore Nate Ferris made sure the Wolverines would hang on and win 3-2. Ferris made 33 saves in earning his 16th win of the season. The two teams will complete the home-home series on Saturday at 5:30pm at Indiana Tech.
