Hockey Wins Outdoor Game

Detroit, MI - The hockey team took their game outdoors Tuesday night as they played Oakland University at Clark Park in Detroit. The game was rescheduled due to ice conditions and all went well for the 11th ranked Wolverines. The cool evening provided a great backdrop for both teams. Michigan-Dearborn was able to extend their winning streak to six games in defeating Oakland 3-2.

Three different Michigan-Dearborn players scored as sophomore goalie Nate Ferris secured the win. Once again the underclassmen led the charge with sophmores Andrew Palushaj and Jeff McFarland scoring Michigan-Dearborn's first two goals. With the game tied 2-2, freshman forward Nic LaBurn scored the game winning goal. It was LaBurn's 10th goal of the season and his second game winning goal of the season.

The hockey team will play a home-home series this weekend against the 23rd ranked Indiana Tech Warriors. Friday night's game is home at 7:30pm, and then the two teams will play at Indiana Tech on Saturday at 5:30pm.
