Eight Different Goal Scorers Power Hockey Past Saginaw Valley

Dearborn, MI - The men's ice hockey team opened up the Great Lakes Showcase with a convincing 9-2 win over Saginaw Valley State Friday night. Freshman Tyler Groat had two of Michigan-Dearborn's three goals in the first period and was the only Wolverine to score more than one goal in the game. Michigan-Dearborn would score three goals in each period and outshot Sagniaw Valley 52-29 for the game. Sophomore Ryan Urso had one goal and two assists for the game, while four Wolverines had one goal and one assist. Sophomore Nate Ferris made 27 saves in earning the win. The hockey team will play Michigan State at 7:00pm on Saturday night for a shot at playing in Sunday's championship game.
