Hockey Completes Sweep of Eastern Michigan

Dearborn, MI - The hockey team got back to its scoring ways this weekend against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. After winning Friday night 8-1, the Wolverines came back on Saturday night to win 10-1. Freshman Tyler Groat and junior Gino Darin each had a hat trick as Michigan-Dearborn scored five first period goals. It is Groat's fourth hat trick of the seaosn and gives him an ACHA leading 18 goals on the season. Darin and Groat each finished the night with three goals and one assist.

Each team would score one goal in the second period and then Michigan-Dearborn would score four goals in the third period. Eight of the ten Michigan-Dearborn goals were scored at even strength. After firing 58 shots on goal on Friday night, the Wolverines had 52 shots on goal Saturday night. Sophomore defenseman Ryan Urso had one goal and three assists on the game. Sophomore goalie Nate Ferris made 19 saves in earning his seventh win of the season. The hockey team will have three weeks off before hosting their annual Great Lakes Showcase Thanksgiving Weekend.
