Hockey to Retire Macari's Jersey at Friday Night's Game Against Davenport

On Friday night, the men's ice hockey program will retire the jersey of one of the most prolific goal scorers in the program's history. Michael Macari, who played from 2008-2012 and wore number 12, will have his jersey officially retired at the first intermission of the game against Davenport on October 9th. Macari was a four-time First Team All-American and two-time Academic All-American. He was the CSCHL's MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2008-09 and the GLCHL MVP in 2011-12. Macari also played on Team USA in 2009 and 2011 in the World University Games. He finished his career with 143 goals and 169 assists.

Macari will be the second player in program history to have his jersey retired as Jesse Hubenschmidt, who played from 1992-1996 and wore number 25, had his jersey retired on February 1, 1997. Both jersey numbers will be retired and hung in the ice arena at the first intermission. The puck drops at 6:30pm.
